Solomon Udobor, the head of Ugolo clan in Ovia South-West Local Government Area of Edo State was shot dead in his bedroom on New Year day by gunmen who stormed his residence at about 7.21pm.
The suspects who names were not disclosed were arrested following a confessional statement made by one of them earlier arrested by the Ugbowo Police Division after the killing. Appealing to members of the public and the family of the slain Enogie to furnish the command with useful information that would assist it in the investigation, the Edo State Police spokesman, ASP Peter Ogboi, said the police would unmask those behind the killing. Ogboi also promised that the command would leave no stone unturned to track down other suspects behind the murder.
Newsmen in Benin gathered that the plan to murder the Enogie was hatched in the house of a school principal who is currently at large.
The 55-year-old Enogie, many believe, was killed in connection with the kingship tussle in his domain.
