The woman, Suzan Bark of Nualege village, behind Air force Base, Abuja, was reported to have sold the said land for N130, 000 in May 2008.
Prosecutor Yilkudi Dungji told the court that the accused deceived the complainant by selling a piece of land that did not belong to her to the complainant.
“The accused knowing full well that the land belongs to another person, dishonestly sold it and converted the money that accrued from the sales to her personal use,” the prosecutor added.
He stated further that the complainant decided to build a shop on the said land, adding that on January 16, 2010, the shop was vandalized by some unknown persons, who removed the shop window and door.
“The offences committed by the accused are punishable under sections 312 and 322 of the Penal Code Law,” the prosecutor argued.
When the charges were read to the accused, she pleaded not guilty and asked for bail.
Magistrate Hadiza Shagari granted the accused bail in the sum of N 100,000 with a reliable surety in like sum, who must reside within the court’s jurisdiction.
The case was adjourned to March 15 for hearing
