An eyewitness said the accident occurred at 5:30 pm and involved an 18- seat bus with registration number XA 426 LLA that belongs to Sokoto State Transport Company.
He said while on motion, the bus lost a tire and it crashed into a ditch, leading to the instant death of four passengers inside the vehicle.
Our reporter learnt that two victims among the injured passengers that were rushed to Abaji General Hospital died on Thursday afternoon.
City News further gathered that the 18 passengers on board of the bus were travelling from Delta to Sokoto, with excess luggage when the incident happened.
The Abaji Unit Commander of the Federal Road Safety Commission (FRSC) Mr. Joseph Ojerinde, while confirming the accident, blamed its overloading.
He said the six corpses were conveyed to the Abuja Teaching Morgue, while the remaining 10 victims are still receiving treatment at Abaji General Hospital.
